Andreas Voigt received his German Diploma in Physics in 2004 from TU Dresden, having spent one of his undergraduate years at Duke University, NC, USA. He did his Diploma Thesis at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics. In 2010, he obtained a PhD degree in Electrical Engineering in the area of Laser Metrology at the Chair of Measurement and Sensor System Technique (supervisor: Prof. Jürgen Czarske).
From 2012 to 2018 and again from 2019 to 2025 he worked as a postdoc and project coordinator at the chair of microsystems (Prof. Andreas Richter), at TU Dresden. There, his main topics were Microfluidics and Biomedical Engineering, especially with regards to mathematical modeling and simulation. In parallel, he worked on an M.Sc. degree in Practical Computer Science which he obtained in December 2025 from Fernuniversität Hagen.
Since January 2026, Andreas Voigt works at the Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks in the Quantum Communication Networks Research Group.
