Frank Peters is an engineer with extensive experience in the field of robotics and human-technology interaction. He holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on design and development engineering as well as computation and simulation. During his studies, Frank worked as an adjunct scientist at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, where he was an exercise instructor for engineering mechanics.
In 2016, Frank Peters joined Hays Professional Solutions GmbH and was assigned as a development engineer at IAV GmbH in Weissach. In this role, he worked on the development of driver assistance systems and emergency braking and warning systems for Porsche E3. From 2018 to March 2020, he was a research assistant at Fraunhofer IWU in Chemnitz, where he worked in the robotics department. There he focused on human-robot collaboration, developed experimental computational software, and was responsible for robot path planning and programming. He developed algorithms for safety areas and filed a patent (DE102020203636). In addition, he handled customer acquisition and support.
From 2020 to 2022 as a research associate at the Chair of Robotics and Human-Technology Interaction at TU Chemnitz. During this time, he designed, acquired and worked on various projects. He developed algorithms in the area of human-robot collaboration and multi-robot trajectory planning. He also worked on layout, process and machine occupancy planning and developed engineering software with direct industrial application. Since the end of 2023, Frank has been working as a research associate at the Deutsche Telekom Professorship for Communication Networks at the TU Dresden. There he is involved in the CeTI and 6G-life projects and is working on robotics for CeTIBAR.

abstract = {The convergence of robotic arms, edge computing, and 5G non-public networks
has opened new avenues for industrial automation.
This paper presents a technically evolved demonstrator, based on the HYDRA
concept, which embodies a novel approach to revolutionize industrial
automation through collaborative and coordinated operations among multiple
robotic arms.
The HYDRA concept leverages the power of robotic arms working in close
proximity, enabled by a two-layer architecture comprising a HYDRA core in a
Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) environment and multiple HYDRA satellites
connected via a non-public 5G network.
This paper outlines the architecture, implementation, and impact of the
HYDRA concept on industry.},
