Volkan Ün is a Ph.D. researcher at Deutsche Telekom Chair for Communication Networks at the Dresden University of Technology (TUD). He received his B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Hacettepe University in Turkey. He then continued his studies at TUD, by studying in the Computational Modeling and Simulation master’s program with the life science track. Throughout his studies, he worked with DNA data for the understanding of its “language”, and surgical imaging data with generative modeling to edit/augment, robotics simulations to automise peg-transfer surgical training tasks. During his studies, he also worked on understanding of biological mechanisms of eating disorders. His current research at the Deutsche Telekom Chair for Communication Networks Chair is focused on autonomous multi-robot control and task planning.
