M.Sc. Raoul Schmidt

PhD Researcher

Raoul Schmidt is a PhD researcher at the “Deutsche Telekom Chair of Communication Networks” at TU Dresden.
He is currently working on the bitteiler project, where he studies and implements smart data compression techniques in an Industrial IoT setting. His research interests include AI-driven data compression and statistical data analysis.
He was born in Munich and studied in Würzburg and Dresden, where he obtained his Master’s Degree in Physics in 2019. In his Master’s Thesis, he studied “Transient Spreading Dynamics in Networked Systems”. In addition to his academic research, he worked as a Data Scientist from 2019 to 2022 for Robotron Datenbank-Software GmbH in Dresden.
In his spare time, Raoul enjoys reading, hiking, cycling, and bouldering.
